Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"A different contemporary South Indian restaurant. Really loved the Kizi Parata which really flavourful and different way to enjoy Parata plus curry. Also enjoywd their Briyani dishes. Overall it was a enjoyable experience and worthwhile visit if you are around Melbourne CBD."
"Great food. Ordered their meat galore thali, which was sufficient for 2 pax to share. Great variety of meat and seafood The guntur spice level is on the higher side but delicious."
"Was so keen to go to this place after they advertised the Virundhu. Finally went on Valentine's day and it was absolutely delicious and great value for the money. For $35 there were 16 items and included all varieties of meat and even seafood. I would have liked one plain dhall and 1 vegetable included or offered as an option at an extra small cost but still...!!! The food is pretty spicy so for me the plain dhall would have made the palate with the non-veg balanced out instead of all the items being spicy. Just a suggestion, are you able to provide a thick dhall to go with the plain rice and meats please as rasam is also a spicy dish and is not necessarily the best accompaniment for this meal. For the Veg thali it would be perfect for this thali, Dhall will be more suitable. Or give the customer this as an option. Do you want plain Dhall or the Chicken rasam? Also great that they gave 2 desserts - a payasam (which I loved) and a South Indian Style Coffee Ice Cream...pretty novel although some of us might like the coffee itself as an option instead of the dessert ice cream. Other than these minor suggestions, I enjoyed the grub. The atmosphere is not fancy and bit mediocre/mundane but the food was great. The Biriyani was top notch and very authentically south indian so am so glad to have found this spot. I will visit the Werribee branch personally soon. The atmosphere could be worked on a little bit I think...as its in a good location but slightly missing the mark in this area of ambience. Keep up the good work MMS. Romba Nalla Virundhu. Will come again for sure."
"My colleagues made take away orders and I accompanied them. They ordered Kili parotta. Inside the shop was so hot and stuffed."
"I went there after many recommendations from my south indian friends. I must say I never had any biryani like Jeera Samba (Jeera Rice Biryani). It was definitely worth trying. Will definitely recommend them. Will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu. Went back to try something different. Had their paratha burger which hits different and delicious, fried idli as chips is unique and comes with rose milk drink. Overall it was enjoyable."
"KIZHI Parotta - Yes, still being served and its a TOPNOTCH!! my all-time fav with mango lassi - a small sip with hot & strong aromatic spice flavoured bite ! your tastebuds will be pleased and thank you later. Catch is, you need to be lil hungry before dig-in. :-)"
"Really nice authentic South Indian food. We had the thali with rice and a variety of non-veg dishes, and each dish had its own unique flavour. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The Khilli Parotta was definitely the highlight — absolutely top notch and a must-try!"
"Always enjoyed food from MMS. Spice level is amazing. Service is always great."
